Care 4 My Lambs is a 501(c)3 Public Charity
We are a non-profit charitable organization, headquartered in Brentwood, California.
Our mission is to provide resources to people in need who are in physically or spiritually impoverished situations. We do this by providing resources, such as in-kind donations, limited financial assistance, and information, to those in need of assistance.
Local Focus
Our local focus is on helping people who want to improve their lives to help themselves, by providing assistance that will result in a sustained improvement in their lives or situations. Although sustained improvement is our goal, we also help people in crisis situations when we have the resources to do so.
On the Resources tab you can find information on many local resources that are already available through other community program.
International Focus
Internationally, we provide support to Christian outreach activities; including outreach centers in Punta Gorda Beliz, Tijuana and Ensenada Mexico, and Christian radio ministries.
Our Programs
Aid for Families, Individuals, and Young Adults
We help people in need in our local communities. Initially we try to direct clients to the many resources that are already available through other local programs via our website (e.g. recovery programs, domestic violence shelters, food banks, meal kitchens, medical centers, educational assistance). However, there are many people who are hard to reach, or who do not qualify for these types of local assistance. In some cases, many of the needed items are not available from the local programs. In these cases we may be able to provide them with cash or gift cards to purchase the needed items.
Mexico Missions
In the border areas of Tijuana, Tecate, and
Ensenada there are very impoverished communities. These communities have all the same problems that we face in the US; alcoholism, drug addictions, single-parent families, and domestic violence, but also extreme poverty. Working closely with Valley Community Church of Pleasanton, California, we provide support to an impoverished community in the hills above Ensenada. In this community, we also provide support to a children’s center called Casa de Pan, a place where children in grades K’6 are able to stay in safety until their parents return from work, and where they receive a good meal, love and attention, and help with their homework. With your generous support we will continue to support these projects, aiding our neighbors to the south. You can read more on the local missionaries’ website Link International Ministries.
Belize Missions
Josie’s Kitchen (formerly Da Wata Fountin’),
Punta Gorda, Toledo, Belize. This project started out as Da Wata Fountin’ (circa 2006) as a small Christian outreach to the many Belizeans who spent their nights on Front Street involved in prostitution, drugs, and alcohol abuse. Da Wata Fountin’ served as a Christian outreach to Belizeans who had questions about the forgiving God, and who wanted to find out more about the grace of Jesus Christ.
Much has happened since then. Karol (circa 2012), along with Josie who worked daily at Da Wata Fountin’, decided that they wanted to feed the hungry adults who had little or no opportunity to eat a proper meal. This was the start of the feeding program, feeding the older folks at Josie’s house and for a couple of years, and feeding and teaching a group of primary kids on their long lunch breaks at Da Wata Fountin’.
Eventually they outgrew Josie’s small kitchen. Thankfully, the ministry was able to move into a new “bus kitchen” and an attached building. Sadly, Josie passed away, and the feeding program was renamed Josie’s Kitchen in her honor.
Currently, they serve 2 meals a day, 5 days a week, to 15-20 folks. Some of them move on after they feel stronger, and we have lost several to death or prison. Many of the men are mentally ill, drug addicts, injured or all of the above.
“We hold Bible study and eat with them as a group, two times every week. We provide clean clothes, a shower, vitamins, food, a special birthday cake etc. and try to keep our eyes open to different needs in town. We have provided for folks to receive a needed surgery or medication, school supplies, house repair, or groceries. For one man, we provided a place to live at Josie’s Kitchen during his last few weeks on earth as the local “hospital” would not let him stay any longer.
We, at Josie’s Kitchen, are honored to serve those who otherwise would fall through the cracks (there are no safety nets or food stamps here). We have seen some of their countenances & attitudes change as they receive the Love of God freely offered to them. We feel truly blessed to bless the very least of His brethren.”
We also provide mission support to Dave and Debbie Bunk, a missionary couple supporting Laugh Out Loud Children’s Home. The children’s home provides care for approximately 60 children at any given time. They range in age from newborn to transitional young adults. Debbie is a teacher and provides instruction to those children who have special needs or are behind due to their extenuating circumstances. Dave provides supervision to the security team and oversees vehicle maintenance as well as payroll clerk and accounting. Their goal is to come along side of the directors and staff and hold up their arms, just like Aaron and Hur did for Moses.
